The Story of NoTemp'o
This story takes place in a uchrony, occuring in the Bay of Napoli during the year 2107.
Sciences, technologies and innovations are center placed.
During these chapters, we will see the story of the protagonist Sofia, in her quest of finding her missing husband. She will go through 7 unique locations (levels) that will lead her to her final answer! For instance, only the level 3 is developed as it was our End-Study Project.
Take a look!
01
An horrendous night
Sofia was an active member of several scientific groups, where she loved discussing her theories and research. One night, after a few drinks with her colleagues, she caught the funicular back to her apartment in the Via Veneto district; a vintage, charming neighborhood known for its slow-paced life.
As she approached her door, she saw the worst: the lock was broken, and the flat inside was in complete disarray. She yelled for her husband, but there was no answer—only a faint breeze blowing through the open windows from the building's hallway.
She broke down for a few minutes, but she knew there was no time to lose. She needed answers, no matter how grim they might be. She searched the apartment top to bottom for clues, but found nothing. Acting fast, she grabbed a prototype of the NoTemp'o hidden in her bedroom and packed a temporary Teleportation Module. She was ready to rush straight to the Chief Office at the crossroads of Via Veneto and Mare Solar. However, she paused, realizing she needed to be smart; she decided it was better to wait until morning, using the remaining hours of the night to gather her thoughts and do some quick digital research first.
The night had turned into a harrowing quest for answers and perhaps some of those answers had been caught on camera.
02
Federico De Angeli was here?
Sofia didn't sleep at all that night. Instead, she focused entirely on calibrating her prototypes and trying to gather any shred of information regarding the disappearance of both her husband and their life's work.
At precisely 8:00 AM, Sofia was already outside. She approached her neighbors, including the local grannies who had been awake since 6:00 AM (some things never change), and even the neighborhood kids. No one had seen anything. However, assuming the abduction had taken place around 8:00 PM the night before, this wasn't entirely surprising. At that hour, everyone was inside having dinner. Furthermore, the district's streetlights were routinely shut down to conserve energy and divert power to the heart of the city, leaving Via Veneto shrouded in darkness.
Realizing she had no clues here, Sofia boarded the funicular, navigating her way past a series of construction sites and obstacles until she arrived at Mare Solar, a bustling tourist hotspot and beachside resort. Her primary objective was to find the Chief Officer and demand to see the security footage from Via Veneto.
As she walked through the crowded streets of Mare Solar, catching snippets of conversation from residents and tourists alike, Sofia noticed posters for a private event taking place that night on Isola Festival: a celebration of new technologies featuring a highly anticipated "timeless presentation." As one of the city's leading thinkers and innovators, the fact that she hadn't been invited was deeply suspicious.
Finally, she reached the Chief Office. She managed to secure an interview with Imani Mirano, the Chief Officer, to obtain the security recordings and press for information regarding Federic, an opulent tech investor, and the exclusive event on Isola Festival.
She learned a devastating truth: last night, Federico had been waiting nearby for his henchmen to return from a specific mission in Via Veneto.
Sofia’s thoughts raced; she had her answer.
She had to infiltrate this masquerade party to find her husband and rescue their research. Federico couldn't have made a breakthrough of that magnitude disappear in just twenty-four hours. Sofia was certain of it: Federico intended to present their life's work as his own tonight.
Shrouded in anonymity and gripping anxiety, Sofia set off for Isola Festival.
03
A great masquerade, Isola Festival
At the Mare Solar docks, Sofia decided to "borrow" a small boat to infiltrate Isola Festival incognito. Fortunately for her, the masquerade theme meant she could easily blend in once inside. After a tense journey across the water, she pulled up to the festival's delivery dock; there was no way she could risk using the main entrance reserved for the elite guests.
Uncertain where to start looking for her research, she crept through the shadows, occasionally eavesdropping on the conversations of high-profile attendees like Charlotte, the famous opera singer, and Martha De Giulia, the event's artistic director.
Then, she witnessed Federico’s demonstration. A sudden flash of blinding light erupted, triggering a catastrophic spatiotemporal ripple. The next thing Sofia knew, she was stumbling backward, disoriented, right back onto the delivery docks where she had started.
Distrusting her own senses, she checked her hastily crafted NoTemp'o and realized the clock had wound back. As she slipped onto the island a second time, she encountered the exact same guests, repeating the exact same conversations. Everything was looping. Her deep knowledge of temporal physics immediately told her she wasn't dreaming, she was trapped in the very thing she and Leandre had always feared: a full-blown time anomaly.
Retrieving her research from a heavily guarded party was already a daunting task, but doing it before the clock reset felt impossible.
Fortunately, she was equipped for the impossible. Her NoTemp'o prototype could hold the key. Testing its limits, she used the device to freeze specific guests and conversations mid-sentence. By altering these minor variables, the timeline began to fracture: events shifted, paths changed, and new opportunities opened up. Free to move and uniquely immune to the loop's memory wipes, Sofia painstakingly pieced the puzzle together over multiple cycles.
Finally, she managed to infiltrate Federico's private office. She tore through his desk and located her research files hidden inside a locked briefcase. While there was no direct proof of Leandre's whereabouts, the documents revealed the inner workings of Federico’s organization and his desperate plan to save his failing corporation: Mente Scope.
Even more shocking, Sofia recognized a familiar face on the organization's roster: Marco Livio, one of her closest friends from her university days studying physics and biology.
If anyone knew the truth behind Federico’s plot and Leandre's disappearance, it would be Marco. Sofia had her next objective: find Marco Livio at the University of Marine Biology, where he now taught classes. She would head there first thing tomorrow morning.
But first, she had to escape the island without being spotted and without being sucked back to the beginning of the night. By carefully navigating away from the epicenter of the anomaly, Sofia managed to break free of the loop's boundaries, avoiding the reset to the docks.
Yet, as she looked back, she knew this temporal disruption was bound to cause massive, unpredictable consequences for the rest of the city...
04
Marco Livio the Gentle
After sorting through her racing thoughts and regaining her composure, a chilling realization sets in: the temporal disruption from Isola Festival has likely rippled across the entire coastline. Fearful that these anomalies might cause Leandre to vanish permanently, urgency takes over. Her childhood friend, Marco Livio, is her only lifeline, his ties to Federico mean he holds the precise information she needs. Deciding to rest for what remains of the night, Sofia prepares to head to the University of Marine Biology at dawn, where Marco is scheduled to teach a specialized seminar on temporal mechanics and advanced relativity theory.
Arriving at the university perched high on a cliffside, Sofia is met with an eerie, unnatural silence. The campus is rarely used during the summer months, save for exclusive, specialized courses. As she steps inside, a localized temporal wave forces Sofia to activate her NoTemp'o. To her amazement, she discovers the entire interior of the building is completely frozen in time. Navigating this surreal, museum-like environment, she must use her device to selectively unfreeze elements, triggering clever chain reactions between physical objects and organic components to clear her path. After an extensive search through the stagnant corridors, she finally locates Marco in the subterranean level of the building, a state-of-the-art aquarium and research laboratory. Trapped in stasis, he must be carefully extracted and brought past the boundaries of the frozen campus to restore him to real-time.
Once safely reunited in the nearby harbor of Porto Felice, a long and intense discussion unfolds. Marco lays bare everything he knows about Federico's questionable operations, revealing that the tycoon's desperate actions are driven by a desire to save his terminally ill wife, Katrina. Most shockingly, Marco mentions a massive temporal anomaly anchoring Federico's estate, an apparent rift tearing into an alternate reality.
Mid-conversation, Marco’s wrist-device pings with a notification from another high-ranking member of Federico’s organization, Mona Isabella. The message is an urgent reminder to attend an exclusive gathering at the newly constructed Monte Alto stadium the following afternoon at 5:00 PM, aimed at vetting new recruits for the inner circle.
Sofia is now convinced that Leandre is being held captive at Federico’s private estate. The only problem? The address is a closely guarded secret that not even Marco knows. Infiltrating the Monte Alto stadium is now her only choice; it is the perfect opportunity to corner key organization members, extract the location of the estate, and finally get the answers she needs.
05
Past or New Organisation
Instead of freezing, time at this location had completely fractured, catapulting the area into a distant past. The cutting-edge Aerial Football stadium vanished, replaced in an instant by ancient Gallo-Roman ruins.
Sofia and Marco had to navigate through crumbling structures and heavy debris, slipping behind the leaning columns of a ruined amphitheater. Moving through this unstable, ancient environment proved to be an extreme challenge. The sudden temporal leap had not only displaced the architecture but had also triggered violent geological chain reactions causing unpredictable rockfalls, cave-ins, and avalanches. In the chaos of the transition, several members of Federico’s organization were severely injured or crushed to death. Sofia and Marco had to proceed with absolute caution; knowing she was trespassing in a highly locked-down zone added an extra layer of danger to Sofia's mission.
To minimize suspicion, Marco split up from Sofia early on, allowing him to explore the site at his own pace without blowing his cover. A few minutes later, he pinged Sofia with the coordinates of Mona Isabella, the main organizer, who was pinned under the rubble. Navigating the constant threat of further collapses and hostile patrols, Sofia successfully infiltrated the area and located her target.
However, interrogating Mona proved futile at first. Defiant despite her injuries, Mona refused to cooperate and threatened to alert the guards. Marco, standing nearby, remained strictly silent to protect his cover within the syndicate.
Realizing her desperate situation, Mona pivoted and made a ruthless proposition: in exchange for her silence, Sofia had to help her, Marco, and two other inner-circle members escape the wreckage.
Sofia accepted the deal. Her objectives were clear: locate the two remaining survivors and find the Hémantic portal activation device near the stadium's original coordinates. She moved with stealth, avoiding the ruthless guards who would silence her permanently if spotted. Ironically, Mona now actively hoped Sofia would succeed, realizing that Sofia’s extraordinary talent and her NoTemp'o prototype were their only tickets out of the past.
Sofia successfully located one of the survivors and directed him to the rendezvous point. Unfortunately, the final organization member had already succumbed to the wreckage, crushed beneath the stones.
With time rapidly running out, Sofia hurried back to the meeting point and re-calibrated the device to reset the Hémantic portal. The temporal gateway roared to life, allowing the four uneasy allies to escape the collapsing past.
True to her word, a grateful Mona finally revealed what she knew about Federico. She gave Sofia a highly classified access code to the Memoria Archive, a secure vault reserved exclusively for elite investors.
The Archives contain data on every citizen across every timeline. It is a veritable treasure trove of knowledge; a digital Library of Babel holding the deepest secrets of the Bay of Naples
06
Archives: Memories of the Future
The morning after the chaotic events at Monte Alto, Sofia met Marco Livio at a quiet restaurant in the Mare Solar district. Over a tense meal, they analyzed the intel Mona had provided. Mona had spent months digging through Federico’s encrypted files and had previously managed to uncover his residence. However, because his location had likely been rotated within the last year, Sofia needed to cross-reference the data herself to extract his current physical address and the updated biometric access codes.
In this hyper-surveilled, corporate-capitalist regime, private property and extreme individualism were tightly regulated to track political dissidents and suppress civil unrest. Paradoxically, this meant that to prevent data conflicts and cybersecurity interference, every residential access code in the city was cataloged in a singular, state-controlled database. Sofia knew the flaws of this bureaucratic system intimately; she had once been forced to wait months just to get the security keys for her own apartment. She reasoned that Federico’s current estate address and corporate schematics would be filed away within a specific server bank. Fortunately, Mona’s stolen clearance code granted her direct entry into the precise server wing where Federico's data was archived.
To gain a tactical advantage, Sofia and Marco formulated a daring infiltration plan while waiting for the facility to close for the evening. The heavily fortified Memoria Archives did not just store digital records; they housed physical copies of historical prototypes and mechanical artifacts. Recognizing a strategic opportunity, Marco and Sofia used their expertise to illegally tether two Hémantic gateways, linking a portal on the outskirts of Mare Solar directly to one concealed deep within the heart of the Archives.
Stepping through the rift, Sofia materialized in a surreal, inverted environment where time flowed completely backward. Security cameras panned in reverse, employees walked backward, and heavy security blast-doors un-latched and opened along an inverted timeline. Sofia was the sole anomaly moving forward through this reverse reality.
The core challenge of her mission was an extraordinary temporal paradox: the updated security code she required was actively being de-constructed in this backward timeline, traveling in reverse from the system's processors back into the hands of its creator before vanishing from existence entirely. Sofia couldn't intercept a code that hadn't technically been "validated" yet by the past version of the archive. She had to race against the backward clock, tracking the data trail to seize the code a mere fraction of a second before its official creation matrix was wiped.
Operating as a chronological "free electron" within a reverse-flowing timeline carried an existential risk. The friction between Sofia’s forward momentum and the archive’s backward flow generated a massive, unstable temporal paradox. If Sofia lingered a moment too long, the localized timeline would collapse into absolute nothingness, instantly erasing every form of life inside the facility from existence.
Against all odds, Sofia overcame the shifting architecture and inverted patrols, narrowly escaping the Archives with the code in hand, a code that did not yet exist in the archive's inverted timeline, but was already actively functioning in the real-world timeline where Federico awaited her.

Leandre, Time & Fracture
Sofia finally arrives at Paradiso Serafino, a luxurious, ultra-futuristic villa perched precariously on a cliffside, elegantly cloaked by the surrounding coastal nature. Having been guided to the threshold by Marco Livio, Sofia expresses her heartfelt gratitude for his invaluable alliance before slipping into the mansion alone, leaving him behind in the shadows.
The state of the villa and the harrowing events that unfold within its walls entirely depend on a critical choice made back during Level 3 at Isola Festival. It is revealed that Katrina, Federico’s ailing wife, was being kept on life support on the mansion's top floor, her fading consciousness sustained only by a complex web of experimental, advanced technologies. If Sofia chose to perform a mercy killing to "end her suffering" during that early infiltration, the subsequent narrative at Paradiso Serafino is profoundly shattered.
The story’s conclusion, and the very atmosphere bleeding from the villa, completely hinges on that fateful decision:
Path A: The Mercy Killing If Sofia chose to end Katrina’s suffering at Isola Festival, she finds Paradiso Serafino drowned in darkness. The lights are heavily dimmed, and a hollow, grief-stricken silence hangs in the air. Federico sits utterly alone, despondent and heavily intoxicated. After a bitter, emotionally exhausting confrontation, Sofia is forced to make a harrowing choice. Federico blames the creation of the NoTemp’o for tearing their lives apart, leaving him with nothing, and stranding Sofia and Leandre on opposite sides of a broken timeline. Sofia must choose whether to step through the temporal rift to chase her husband into an unknown reality, or stay behind in this timeline to painstakingly repair the fractures alongside a broken, repentant Federico.
Path B: The Technological Stasis Conversely, if Sofia left Katrina hooked to the machines, the atmosphere inside the villa is strikingly different, lighter, brighter, and bathed in sterile, glowing illumination. Though Katrina ultimately does not survive the night regardless of Sofia's choice, a sober and calculated Federico calmly invites Sofia into his lower research laboratory. There, the two lovers are triumphantly reunited, their reunion radiating a profound sense of relief and immeasurable happiness.
The Final Choice Ultimately, the three protagonists assemble in the laboratory for one final, definitive crossroad. The power rests entirely in Sofia’s hands. Will she forgive Federico for his ruthless actions and combine their scientific brilliance to mend the fractured future? Will she take Leandre’s hand, escape through the temporal rift, and abandon this reality entirely? Or will she take her husband, sever all ties with Federico, and vanish into the world—leaving the tycoon alone with the consequences of his corporate greed?
Whatever she decides, the final choice belongs exclusively to Sofia, dictating the ultimate fate of the Bay of Naples and cementing the final, permanent consequences of her journey through time.
